Finally, I think I can now post my Paris trip but the WiFi in our Venice hotel is a bit dodgy according to my dad and mom.
We arrived in Paris by Thalys, the high speed train from Antwerp. We had a taxi to our hotel on the left bank (rive gauche) in Saint Germain de Pres near the Sorbonne. While the room was being cleaned we had lunch on Blvd. San Germain de Pres at “Le Bar á Huître” which had some great scallops and razor clams.
After we dropped our bags off we rested until my godfather Jonathan came over from London. Then we walked the quayside down to the Museé Dorsay. We decided to make a quick tour of the 2nd floor only so we could get back in time to change for our dinner cruise on the Bateaux Mouches.

I am in front of the University of Paris, The Sorbonne. It is a famous university but without a football team.

One of the two bridges over The Seine where people in love hang locks to seal their love for each other. That is the Louvre in the background.
We saw a collection of sculptures by Rodin an others as well as some Post-Impressionist paintings and then a nice exhibition of Art Noveau furtniture which I really like because on of my dad and mom’s favorite designer Victor Horta who is Belgian.

No photos but my Dad took one anyway at the entrance to the Museé Dorsay. We saw Rodin’s sculptures and plaster mockups for altar pieces as well as a Art Noveau furniture exhibition and some Post-Impressionists.
We walked back to our hotel and changed for dinner.

On the Bateaux Mouches as it passes the front of Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris. My favorite church in Paris until I saw Sacre Coeur.
On the Bateaux Mouches
The next day we woke and had breakfast then took the Metro to Montmarte (Anvers Station). There we went to mass at Sacre Couer and walked around shaking off the sketch pad hustlers and had lunch in the Village near the artist stalls.

Up the steps we go to the Basciica Sacre Coeur in Montmarte. By the way, that is a Surrey County Cricket Club shirt I am wearing from my godfather Jonathan but I am a Sussex fan.

I am outside the doors to Sacre Coeur looking down on Paris. We went to 1100 mass on Thursday in honor of our D-Day forces who sacrificed their lives for freedom.
This is Frederick and WiFi is improving. Today was a big day for me in Venice and tomorrow I will tell you about it. For now I am just simpatico!
